Equifax is a credit reporting agency. It collects and provides information on over 800 million individual consumers and more than 88 million businesses worldwide.
How did the hack affect society?
People around the world had their personal information exposed, such as names, social security numbers, etc. This put many at risk of identity theft as well as put their money at risk.
Whose data was hacked? How did it affect my family?
Around 147 million people were hacked. Fortunately, the data breach did not affect my family.

What kind of recourse do you have with Equifax?
The Equixfax settlement is offering people affected by the data breach 125$. Fortunately, my parents did not use the services of Equifax, so we did not need any recourse.
