Virtual reality is the computer-generated simulation of a 3D image or environment that can be interacted with in a seemingly real or physical way by a person using special electronic equipment, such as a helmet with a screen inside or gloves fitted with sensors. Other equipment such as motion controllers and optial tracking sensors are used in VR rigs. Click here!

timeline of VR history

The first ever concept of virtual reality was established by Morton Heilig in 1950s, where he wrote of an "Experience Theatre" that could let the user experience all senses from a device. In 1968, Ivan Sutherland made the first VR headset, but it was not practical. From 1970-1990, VR slowly made its ways into medical, military, and aviation purposes. The 1990s saw the first widespread commercial releases of consumer headsets. Nowadays, cheap VR devices can be purchased and used with ease. Click here!
